“Earth Balance 2000”, was incorporated in October 2000, became a Registered Charity in November 2000 and commenced activities in December 2000. The Charity is based at West Sleekburn Farm in the heart of South East Northumberland.

The site is not a public site it is a private site leased by the Charity Earth Balance 2000 from its landlord Wansbeck District Council.

The 220 Acre site was developed in partnership with the local authorities, local business and the community to show how natural resources can be sustained, jobs created and energy harvested without waste or pollution.

Since the formation of the Charity it has been a main priority for the board to maintain a viable business operation that maximised income and kept operational costs to a minimum.

The site is open all year round and entry is free. Visitors to the site are encouraged to support the aims of the charity and respect that the site is a private working eco-business park.

Certain areas of the site are restricted and only accessible by authorised personnel. Anyone in restricted areas without authorisation will be considered to be trespassing and appropriate action will be taken.

For your own security and safety you must stay to designated authorised walkways and permissive public rights of way.

Earth Balance 2000 provides accommodation and support for a wide range of small businesses. This contribution to enterprise is significant in an area where there are very low levels of business start ups.
