There
are a number of new projects underway on site as
well as long established ones.
The
energy systems at Earth Balance 2000 are intended
to make a contribution to the energy demands arising
from the commercial and visitor activities on the
site. The systems are intended to provide a worthwhile
demonstration of renewable energy technologies for
the benefit of the public, academic organisations
and the energy industries.
The
main systems comprise of:

60kw wind turbine - "Windharvester"
- A
30kw Bio diesel generator

array of solar and photovoltaic panels
- A
thermal storage facility
- A
pumped water storage facility
- A
small "stand alone" proven wind turbine
to charge batteries for low electrical demand.
